Now before we start lets compare the advantages to a chip over this method of softmod.
DISADVANTAGE - Cant change BIOS, (boot order flubber scene color)
-With a chip you can use a hdd thats unlocked
ADVANTAGE -Cheap
-Safer, no risk of screwing up your motherboard
-Faster, the whole mod takes less then 5 minutes!
-Dont have to open your box at all
-Takes ZERO soldering expirience
Now lets go over what you will need,
-An exploitable game, Mechassault, Splinter Cell, or 007 Agent unde fire, Note these must be actual xbox games, no copys, and it can not be the platinum hits version.
- A memory card, people reccomend only actaul micro$oft versions.
- Action replay (it has a usb cord that lets you connect a memory card to your computer) OR a friend with a modded xbox, letting you copy the save game to his xbox from a cd or ftp, then copying that file to your memory card. Or, if you have an old controller and a usb cable you can do what i did and wire them together, get the xbcd drivers, and find the action replay software. Your last option is a xbox controller to usb adabter.
-The game save exploit. On xbins you need to go to XBOX/exploits/_Packages/Krayzie Uxe Installer/ and download the rar package that is nessecery for your system and game.
I am only covering the action replay method, so any other methods will have to be found out on your own. Now, open up the A-R software. Plug in your memory card. Drag and drop the zip file found in the rar package to the action replay 'memory card' panel.
Now we need to get it to your xbox hdd. Simply plug in your memory card, and go to the memory section. copy the save from your memory card to the hdd.
NOW YOU ARE READY TO MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Put in your game, load the save, BAM (note, for 007 you will need to read the README since there is a special method for loading the game.)
The xbox led will turn red and a screen will come up with onscreen instructions. You will need to set up a virtual C and virtual eeprom before you can install the mod. (setting this up makes your hard drive bulletproof from user error(deleting ness files))
after you do that you will be able to install the softmod. this is extremly fast and takes about 5 minutes. when its done you will be able to restart and it will take you to the 'evolution x' dashboard(menu)
IF you want to change your dashboard to say, unleash x or XBOXMEDIACENTER. its simple. delete all the files in E:\dashboard. Replace them with the files from your replacment dashboard. (including default.xbe)

yes I was wondering, when I go to install my choice of dash, (I choose unleash x) it gives me an error code 112. I don't know what this means, if you could tell me that would be great. oh and is there any other way to put slayers on a cd so I can rebuil my ms dash? other than a DVD-R or cd-rw? I only have cd-r.
you have to insall the softmod then install the dash without turning off your xbox or exiting the installer,even if your console is already softmodded,you can still go to install mod the install unleash x dahsboard. ;)

im pretty sure that solderless adapter are what they say solderless but they do cost a bit and mine only took me 10 mins with dashboard in stalled. xecuter 3ce for life
