Modchip for PS2 Slim

I just bought a ps2 slim brand new but I don't want to risk any guarantee so I would like to try out one of these methods of modding my ps2 without soldering easy install

so far I got 2 options I can identify as being good:

DMS4
FLIPTOP + Swap Magic

additional info is also welcome.

I would like what version will best suit my needs and if they play all games for ps2 and ps1 and if not what games will they play.

I would like them to play the best ones at least like:
mgs3
tekken
winning eleven
gta and others.

I have a V12 PS2 too and i got it with a DMS4 Lite Chip...but if i were you id get DMS4 Pro and a laser fix...im not sure if i got a laser fix, but i heard its very good to have one in a v12

Laser fix tries to prevent you laser from burning out - it is a must for the slim line PS2.

Do I need this laser fix only when using modchips or when using the hd loader too?

The laser fix is for a problem inherent in all V12 pstwos, so it should be installed even if you don't plan on installing a modchip or hdd.

Its the same really, but the Pro has 2MB of Flash Memory and the Lite only has about 120kbs. The Pro comes with HDExplorer and an OS (Operating System). You can flash the Pro chip with ToxicOS while the Lite can only have ToxicBIOS.
