Wierd problem with any dvd player software. Help?

I am trying to rip a dvd which i have done lots of times before. I just rebuilt 2 computers and they are both having the same problem. I ripped 2 movies on each pc movies and they were both grainy. So I tried to figure out what was wrong with the ripper. Well I found that no matter which program I use to just view the movie "Interactual, Power Dvd, Windows media player, etc.." that the movie is grainy and blurry and the colors are really off! I think it must be a codec but Im not sure what to do or how to fix it? I used divx 5.05 and The mega codec program with super dvd ripper. I have used both programs in the past fine with no problems. Both pc's were just built and I had done all the windows updates and no other software. Any Ideas?

Wierd, I actually got one player to start working correcly. Then the whole problem became intermittant. Then I knew it had to be the video driver. I have an nvidia and I was using the latest download. I loaded the previous driver and it fixed the whole problem. Thanks anyway!!!
