Multimedia Studio won't launch from Phone Tools

I'm editing my message. Originally, I had the problem of the multimedia studio not launching at all. I upgrated to phone tools 3.23. It worked for about 10 seconds. I moved one mp3 from the phone to the computer, then the next time I tried to use the multimedia studio, it lost connection with my phone. It does that EVERY time I open the studio and select mobile explorer before I have a chance to do anything else.

This is on my wife's phone. My phone works fine because I haven't transferred anything yet. I'm sure that once I do, I'm screwed.

Any help or advice would be appreciated. My phone is a V180, Cingular. I have windows 2000, professional, service pack 4.

And I would just like to add to anyone thinking about using mobile phone tools, don't. It is the worst piece of crap I have ever seen. It is completely buggy and cannot be configured at all. Why do I have to go through setup everytime I plug my phone in? Why does it never know what kind of phone I have - I'll give you a hint: It's the same phone I had last time. Whoever wrote this program should be ashamed of their ineptitude.

Okay, I still stand by my opinion of the software, but in the interest of full disclosure, anyone reading that opinion should know it came from someone who didn't have the good sense to turn his phone off and back on.
