I wonder if my question would be in this forum or in the advanced matters.

Until now I have basically made copies from others DVDs or from files captured and processed from my video tapes.

Even if I know there are programs that do it all, I have not had such a good luck with them, so what I do is:

1) Capture with WinDV
2) Convert avi files to MPEG-2 with Canopus Procoder
3) Convert to VOB with TMPGEnc Author
4) Do any necessary shrinking with DVDShrink
5) Burn with CloneDVD2

Now I am doing something different, as I am downloading films or serials with Emule or BitTorrent, and new things are coming by.

Most of these files seem to be VCD types, due to size and image quality when seen on hom DVD and 32" TV. But as I see it, if the only way to get those films is VCD, so be it.

This new type requires learning some new things, like how compatible they are with DVD. Is it possible to place several VCD files, which are small, in a DVD? Like say putting several episodes of a serial on a single disc? How?

My guess is that may not be so: VCD uses MPEG-1 compression, DVDs use MPEG-2 compression. Perhaps the way to do it is blow the MPEG-1 files to MPEG-2, do a single disc with TMPGEnc and then shrink it with DVDshrink.

Or is there a different way to go about it?

I use this guide for it. Works out pretty well most of the time.
