I am aware that many folks have had problems with RIDATA disks, so I bought 200 of these disks and burned them all with No Bad Burns before I posted this. 200 perfect burns out of 200, and all burned at 16X With Printed Labels Attached prior to each burn. (NEC 3520) burner.

Anyway, I think that it's a good deal for anyone who wants to save some money on 16X disks.. $42.99 a hundred U.S.

smsmike- Hey just curious printed labels as in paper or as in direct on disc as in inkjet printable media!? Also Glad to hear you got 200 burns with no runs no drips no errors! with the riteks perhaps they're back on track - When I first got into Dvd-ing Riteks were supposed to be one of the best medias out there for a reasonable price . Then people started having problems and the consenus was that quality dipped shaply . That kinda kept me away from trying them ! Not Knocking them just following the wiser & cooler heads here @ afterdawn but as you've burned 200 out of 200 apparently the quality is back so Great going smsmike- Thanks for the information as well -Peace & Happy Burning!

Always use Memorex paper labels. Unlike other folks, I have never had any problems with my burns (or disk life) by using them. I print the labels, let them dry over night, then apply them before I burn the disks.
I don't have a clue why the process seems to give other folks fits! It doesn't give me any trouble at all..

smsmike- was just curious thanx - I used a ladel on some Compusa Generic DVD+R media -No stacking ring and had no problems but it was a non critical project so either way no problems ! I've never had to let my labels dry that long but I use CD Stomper labels & applicator ! and if it works for you with the memorex who am I to complain? I used to burn a lot of CDR's mostly music & I found if you carried them in your vehicle the labels tended to bubble up ! if I carried them in my car whether they were avery or stomper ! living in louisiana it gets super hot ! I could always resmooth them down and everything was nice nice again but I eventually went sharpie pen ! And Being I have no dvd players portable or built in in either my car or truck that would be a moot point onthe dvd label issue! I think the thing is with printed paper labels on dvd 's is a balance thing if the disc gets off balance it is harder for the laser to track or something ! Anyhow smsmike- my friend glad every thing is working right for you thanx for the info! Peace & happy burninG!

BEWARE - BEWARE - BEWARE - BEWARE - BEWARE - BEWARE
I bought same RITEK media. On the silver mate surface they printed RIDATA, 16X, DVR+R..... BUT they only can burn at 4X. I have Pioneer DVR-108 (a 8X+ burner) :-( :-( :-( :-(
I am very disappointed, I pay for 16X media and on the label and each DVD label is 16X but it only can write at 4X. I fell like I got robbed.
On the inner ring they print: C6-01CH24512317090F17
And how it looks on Decrypter.

A few years ago I bought a stack of 50 Ritek 8X disks that only burned at 4X. I updated my Firmware and the 8X write format suddenly showed up. It's a "Must Do" thing, updating the Firmware, when disks fail to burn at their advertised speed. However, I have had a few that said 8X on the label and had no 8X write format on the disk..
It happens now and then. Just return them and try again...

I know my firmware version is 1.10 But I had burn many Ritek 8X and Prodisc 8X at speed 8X no problem.
Are you saying that the firmware 1.10 did not recorgnized the new 16X media ??
If it is the case then where can I get a firmware upgrade ?? how about www.pioneerusa.com ??

why buy Ritek when you can get the best out there for less money too! http://www.meritline.com/taiyo-yuden-8x-dvd-plus-r-silver-thermal.html 41.99 for TY 8x DVD+Rs.....my software allows me to burn them at 16X!!!! they are that good! And I never had any problems with Taiyo Yudens!
Also, I used to use paper lables on my DVDs...... but some had skipping problems so I stopped! I was thinking about buying a lightscribe or a printer for printable DVDS but I just can't account for the added expense just to make a DVD look better..... I would rather have them play better at higher quality burns! Just my opinion, if you can take my 2 cents.... make change with it! ;-)

well, before I found the right software for me that would let me control the burn speed, I know that I burned some backups at 16x! Didn't have any problems with those disks at all (used TYs for those fast burns!). But, since I found DVDFab Express........ I only burn at 4x! I'm just happy that the ones that I did burn at fastest speed are still working just fine!
