Problems starting up mydvd software

I have installed mydvd on my computer, the entire installation process went through, however when i click on the icon nothing happens, the mydvd screen doesn't open or anything, than if i wait awhile and click on it again a small window opens that stated mydvd already running, however i have nothing on my computer other than the desktop, can someone please explain to me what to do, I have removed and reinstalled it and the same thing happens. please help.

is this an original dvd or a copid dvd
