I have converted a couple of AVI files to DVD using Winavi. When I play them on my home DVD player, the audio and video stutters. I have tried them on my kids and a friends dvd player, and they seem to work ok. They also play ok on my pc. Is there any settings that I might need to try so I can get them working on my dvd player. I like the format of winavi, as it is so simple to use, and converts very fast, even on the highest quality setting. If you have any ideas, I would be very grateful for your help.

Use a program called
DIVXTODVD
It's the best free converter (video type to DvD) I've come across.
No problems for me to date.
