i was told by a service tech at getitrepaired.com that my ps2 doesnt work cause i brok off a surface transister near the bios connector but when i told him i was trying to play a PAL game in ps2 and used force PAL mode from toxic bios options that thats what blew my ps2 up...i dont know what to believe

go to the toxicbios screen and try to make it something else than PAL...and save setting..after reseting the system go back to the toxicBIOS screen and set evryithing to normal...well set the ps2 video option back to nomal and never ever try to play PAL games on a NTSC system....no way thats ever going to work...

i cant seee the screen anymore..my ps2 doesnt show up on my tv..its just a blank screen...i thought these modchips allowed you to play PAL games?

There are modchips that allow you to play PAL games. It just depends on which chip you have.
@ HipN : what do you mean, never ever try to play PAL games on an NTSC system? I've got both a PAL and NTSC ps2, and i play socom 2(PAL) with my brother on a lan with those 2 consoles.

Do you use a video converter to convert the picture or does the modchip do it for you like mine seemed to do before my ps2 blew up?

My modchip does it for me,i just use an rgb cable with it(since my tv is 50hrtz, NTSC compatible) and i just flip the little switch on the cable when i want to play PAL games

my ps2 was all screwy so i dont know what the deal is..i took the mod chip off and it works now...i think im just gonna get a sawp magic setup
