Hi eveyone

I am a filmmaker and my new film is in NTSC. A festival in Europe has just selected my film for competition, but they only screen in Beta-SP and only in PAL. I have my film in a NTSC-DVD form and on Final Cut Pro. Does anyone know the easiest fastest and cheapest way to convert what I have to a PAL Beta-SP? I am thinking of renting an NTSC Beta-SP deck to record the film on it, but then how do I convert to PAL. If you know Final Cut Pro well, can I convert what have in NTSC to PAL within the program? I need to do this conversion ASAP. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. louvolpe

I"m not a Mac Person as these Days PC"s are better for Video editing because of the Availability of different Editing Software/Hardware and Faster processor Speed but it wasn"t allways Like that...

Most High end Editing Programs have the Option to export in PAL or NTSC Format so see if you can export your project from the Final Cut Timeline to PAL format and then if you have a Beta Recording deck with a Firewire Input you can output from the Timeline directly to Tape in PAL Format, If your Beta Deck only has analogue Inputs then you can try exporting through your Video Cards TV-Out (If it has One) to the Analogue Inputs on the Beta Recorder....

As a Last resort you can see if there is a Place were you Live that can convert NTSC to PAL on Beta Tape.....

Well good Luck......Cheers

PS: If you had a Fully equiped PC then you Might have more Options open to you for Converting NTSC to PAL.....

I feel rather presumptious making a comment after an Afterdawn Addict but if you'll pardon my youthful enthusiasm, then you may want to look at Blaze media pro from www.blazemp.com.
