Disc wont spin but laser works

Hi I opened my PS2 to fix a problem and now there is a bigger problem, when I put a disc in it spins a little bit then dies, in other words stops spinning. The laser works though, it moves and also flashes red to read the disc. Help please

the laser is not reading the discs for some reason.
you must have knocked something loose

i wish i could but i am not looking at your
PS2, you are.
It could be a loose ribbon cable or many other things.
does your browser screen even load?

Yeah the browser screen does load I think Ive found out the problem though, if I cant fix it ill post back here. ;)

hi there i have just got a playstation with the same problem how did you fix your problem as it is doing my head in cheers m8

mine is the same as yours laser moves and flashes red to read the disc but the spindle only moves a tiny bit and then stops...


plz plz plz help me on how you fixed yours cheers sam..
