I just downloaded mIRC, and I'm just starting to figure out the basic idea. Any hints on how to find some good stuff on there? Any good channel names? Also, is the only way to download files on there if you talk to someone and get them to send it to you?

To find good channels, connect to efnet or dalnet to start with. Then when you are connected, close the pop up box with a few channels listed in it and type /list divx in the status window and it will list all channels it can find with divx in their name. Use this for whatever you want. it makes it a lot easier!
