You can"t Import VOB files into DVD architect, You would Have to Demux the VOB files into seperate audio and Video files and Load them in seperately.....

If you are Wanting to add your Own Menu"s and Chapters you are going to have to Re-Author the whole Movie which is Difficult to do with a Bunch of VOB files when useing DVD architect.....

I would Suggest that you Join all of the VOB files into a Single Big VOB file useing a Mpeg editor/Joiner of Some Sort and then Demultiplex the Big VOB file into a seperate audio and Video files and then Import the audio and Video file into DVD Architect and add your Menu"s and Chapters and author them to DVD.....

You might have been better off Skipping the whole "DVD-Shrink" Step and Just Ripped the Original DVD to your Hard drive as a Single Big M2V Video file and an AC3 audio file and then Just Imported them into DVD architect and added your Menu"s and Chapters and then Output them as a Video_TS folder which you Just Burn to DVD in DVD Video mode and if the Video_TS is Too Big then you can use DVD Shrink on it .....

"SmartRipper" has the Option to rip the DVD as Just a seperate Video and Audio file...Also what Program you can use with the VOB files is "DVDLab pro"...........

if i make it all into one big VOB do i have to seperate it? Cuz its like a tv series... And my menus have seperate sub-menus for each episode.... I want to put like 3 episodes instead of 4 on one dvd... So that I could maximize the quality.... help! :)

No you don"t have to seperate them you Can simply Put a Chapter at the Beginning of each episode and then Put a Link from the Menu to each Episode so you can select which episode you want to watch or you can watch from the Beginning episode to the end episode....

Well in SmartRipper you Go into the "Stream Processing" settings and de-select everything accept for the Video Track and the First Audio track, and next to the streams you select you and choose to have them Demuxed to a Seperate file....

You also go into the "Settings" Page and under "file splitting" you select "Max File Size" and then set the Max File Size to 9000mb...

Doing all of this will make the DVD be Ripped as a Video and a Audio File that you can Simply Import into your DVD Authoring Program so you can add your menu"s and Chapters and to author to DVD....

Well Not that I know of but there are Other Programs that will Demux your VOB files...

If you Install TMPGEnc (The Freeware Version if you want) and go to "File" to "Mpeg Tools" to "Demultiplex" and then Load in the VOB file it will then show you what Streams are in the VOB file and you simply Double Click the Video Stream and Save it and then Double Click the First Audio Stream and Save it and then you will have a M2V Video file and a Dolby AC3 audio file that you can author to DVD with your DVD Authoring program....

Tmpgenc is Slow at encodeing but the Demultiplexing should be Fairly Fast...It shouldn"t take more than a mainute for the audio and Maybe 5 minutes for the Video.....Cheers

hey one quick question... Before you sed that it would be eaiser if i just ripped the dvd with smart ripper as one big file and set the Demux thing... how do i make it so that all of the main movie VOBs are saved as one m2v and one AC3 file? Like all in one, no vts_1_1 and vts_1_2 or whatever... ? I read your instructions before and i only came up with part of the vobs on the dvd... One episode.

If this is a Multi-Episode DVD then you will probably have to Rip each episode seperately...

If you Look at the SmartRipper window in the Middle you will see were it says "Program Chain 1" and "Program chain 2" ect, well those are Probably the seperate Episodes and if you Highlight them then Rip it will Rip that episode for you...also after you Highlight the Episode you will see the Information about that Episode underneath it like the Length and the Size ect...

Hopefully that helps....

Cheers
