Sky Plus to ATI All In Wonder - Sound Problems

Hi All
I'm new to video on PC etc so hope you can be gentle with me :-)

I hooked up my Sky plus box to my ATI AIW video card. I then fired up the ATI TV software and set the quality to DVD and managed to get an MPG2 capture of a football game I recorded.

I used NeroVision Express to edit the video and make a DVD.....great!.....

The only thing that is wrong is the sound. It is very rough and course. This is so on both the DVD and when playing the MPG file using any media players. Is there some software I could use to modify the sound or have I captured it wrongly in the first place (48000KHz 16 bit stereo set on ATI TV Tuner.

I used scart(sky +)=> 3 phonos (Video card) to make the connection.
