HELP! Problem with DVD Sound file MPEG-1

I was given a DVD from my marriage ceremony that has the folllowing attributes for the menu screen
VIDEO:MPEG-2 720X576 (PAL)
AUDIO: Linear PCM 2ch 48Kbps 16pcs

but for the main file it has
VIDEO:MPEG-2 720X576 (PAL)
AUDIO: MPEG-1 2ch 48Kbps 16bps (ID:0XC0)

The problem is that if i use my SAMSUNG HD-745 Stand Alone DVD Player connected via DVI and Fiber Optic cable, i get no sound for the main file (meaning the MPEG-1) althought i can hear the sound of the menu screen which is Linear PCM).

The DVD player is connected via Fiber optic to the 5.1 Home Theater Amplifier.I also get sound from all other commercial DVDs that I have.

The DVD plays fine on PowerDVD 6.0 on my PC or my XBOX machine (connected via scart).
What is wrong? Can I do something to alter DVD audio settings and reedit my marriage DVD?
