I've been getting my label art from the various sites listed around AD. However, I'd like to customize my own art for my DVD Labels. For example, say, scanning the cover and manipulating image and text to fit a circular label better or even taking a still from the movie itself and using that image... Just curious as to what programs the majority is currently using for this.

There is also a free program called undercoverxpFree Cover Printer that sounds pretty good and very versatile and should do what you want to do.

Maybe I should clarify my post...
http://www.cdcovers.cc is a site that has the artwork for your covers, not a program for the process. Sorry for any confusion.

Do you find that cdcovers.cc has alot of covers and such? Because when I am looking for covers they never seem to have them at at I end up finding the front cover and making my on sides and sometimes the back. Any suggestions on other ones that have great slips for my DVDs.

Yes cdcovers is a site, not a program...
if you want a search engine try http://www.mega-search.net/ although most results will come from cdcovers...
I do have a cool program that's an add-in for Word which I can't recall its name now

If you think of that template name, post it for me alright. I use Avery for my disc labels but i've yet to find one good for sleeves.

Puting labels on any kind of disc is not recomended.
It adds weight to the disc and can strain a drive motor.
The heat can cause the label to lift off and the 7200 RPMs will fling the label in the drive, possibly destroying your drive or standalone DVD players.
That's why most people use a marker.

kickbak,
What about printing on printable media? I was thinking about getting a printer capable of doing this and have heard good things about it from other members; I don't think that anything can come off but I'd bet that it adds weight to the disk.

I've never thought of the weight issue but it does make sense. Is this a problem that can be fixed so labels can be used or should we completely steer away from labels??

PM me to remind me because I have it at the office and won´t come back there till next Tuesday, ok?
I´ve got labels on every each of my discs since 2001 and except one or two, every single them works right... I think it´s a matter of chance then...

The software I was referring to (the one for printing covers & labels directly from Word) is CD/DVD Jewel Case and label creator from AMF software. You can d/l a FULL trial version at http://www.amfsoftware.com
there are a series of templates which you can open and print. Damn easy to use and very good IMHO

I get my covers from http://www.cdcovers.cc, then put them directly into Epson DVD/CD Printer. It always leaves abit white around the edges.
The ritek printables are always put securely into R300 but i get the little white edges!
It's annoying me they don't look as proffesional as they could

Just a note to J-Kwon have you adjusted the inner and outer print settings, 3rd. button from the bottom in your Print CD Software. I have the same printer get my artwork from the same site and my discs have no white edges and look very professional. Also use the 3rd. button down to import the picture this will fill the whole disc once your settings are set up. Thats how I do it anyhow.

framit fella, i was using the Insert picture/ background icon (3rd icon down), but when i clicked on the one underneath that it worked nicely i'll have to wait and see if it works i'm jus burning a movie now, ill put an image on it after it is completed.
And no my setting hasn't been changed, I've always had white edges from when i started using it.
