HOW TO SOFTMOD XBOX EXPLAINED AGAIN FOR LAZY PEOPLE

Ok so you got a xbox, and you wanna softmod it and have tons of fun. If you don't know what what softmod is It lets you mod your xbox w/o opening it.If you are wandaring what you can do with a modded xbox you can play burnt games,play emulaters,And mod games (usally people like to mod halo).
What you need:
Action replay (You need this to transfer linux to your xbox)
Meccahsult,Splintercell 1, or 007 Agent Under Fire ( you need one of these and it has to be orignal, the reason you need this is because these games have a linux program in it)
Your gonna need a linux installer each game for if your gonna use meccahsult (i prefer this game) AIM me i have the installer.

Ok so you got all those Things then your ready.

How To Soft Mod Your Xbox.

1. Open up Action Replay and drag you linux installer into the Pc Data Base.
2. Now drag you linux installer onto Memory Card.
3. Alright cool you got linux installer on your memory card.
4. Ok now put thay memory card into your memory card and transfer it to your xbox's hard drive. (make sure you delete all past game saves of the installer you are using)

Some Linux Installers have to parts so copy both of em onto your xbox hard drive.

5. Now ok you got your linux Installer on your xbox. Ok restart your xbox.
6. Put in the game you are using.
7. Ok load up all the profiles and you should see "run linux" go there.
8. Ok it took you to a whole differnt screen it'll say netherlands or english, if u speak better in netherland then pick that if not pick english.
9. The Rest of the questions it'll give you is really easy exept when it asks you if you want Nk patcher.06 or Nk patcher.67 Pick Nk Patcher.06. then when it asks you if you want Unleashedx or evoltuionX. PICK UNLEASHEDX.
10. After that you are all done your xbox is modded.

I am sending a bunch of NOOBS to your tutorial. I mod with chips and when I did try softmod, I had the hack saves on a memory card. I never even tried to learn this method but now I know where to send the ones that continually ask me.

lol..i wrote this again because i haven't seen any softmodding tutorials on the front of the fourms and people who want to softmod their xbox is too lazy to use the search box but w/e it's kool. and oo by the way if you screw up ever on softmodding your xbox never think it's a good idea to hit the "Restore xbox" unless you got "slayer disks" and slayer disks work for hard modded xbox's.

Technically speaking, you may be able to transplant your xbox hard drive into your pc. Booting with some sort of xbox hard drive disc with a copy of the savegame that you need on it in unzipped form. Obviously, you'd have to follow some of the instructions from this site on how to do the hard drive upgrade, then using either linux or dos tools on that boot disc, copy the appropriate save over to your xbox hd. Then relock. Then put it in your xbox. I'd be interested in knowing if this method works or not, i don't have any idea if the xbox hard drive can be unlocked and relocked without apply the soft mod to gain access to the eeprom.bin file or not. *shrug* Action replay is 30 bucks.

U Need A Simple USB Cord And A Controller and Cut the wires at the end And conect them some how were the usb goses in the computer and the other ind gose in the controller port but dont take that risk theres a lot more than that and u may mess up

ok, I am understand this soft mod lark.
this is my problem. UK XBOX. soft mod kit downloaded... is for the Fonts mod. and my XBOX needs a audio mod.
Now no one seems to be able to help... none of these xbox site are of amy use. can someone please tell me where i need to go to pick up the correct bits for my xbox.

Coming to Afterdawn, criticizing the members and quality of their volunteer work is no way to get the help you need any quicker. Also, you need to remember that this not a live site and posts are not answered right away.
It seems that you may have a problem that others would benefit knowing the answer to. I would first search the threads to see if your issue has been tackled and if not, post one specific to your case and name it accordingly.

you need action reply max. BUT this only mods the xbox as far as allowing you to get ot the setup screen! it does do much else...
i'm further alone than this. also! my xbox requires audio mod not a fonts mod which is what this one is.

iam very new to xbox &play station iam considering one or the other,doesnt matter right now at least till after nov.ive been folling this thread,an wondering why cant you plug in your grafics output to your tv. and your audio soundcard to your sterio amp,for surround sound backup any game basicly with your pc and not go through all that BS.front usb port for game controller,and so on. as i said iam new to this,but curious.thank you.

I meen all of the 007 files sp ma there word things and not zip and says this is not a valid xbox Save and one worked as a save from another site but all most screwwed it the f!@K up

Oh YA AND AFTER I TRYD TO INSTALL THE LINIX PROFILE FOR SPLINTER CELL ON MY A/R IT HAD A NEW SAVE FOLDER THAT SAID LINUX INSTALLER

Okie it seems that the links i posted WORK! but there in dutch let me find some english ones. but you need to have WINRAR and when you download it to your desktop it'll be in a form of books and just drag that to your action replay DATA BASE. and remeber you need action replay MAX that's the new one!

hey i did this mod with oo7 agent under fire but everytime i go to run mini linux it goes to the screen with the penguin then at the bottom it says no link for initialization and just stops there
can somebody help me pleez what did i miss??????????????

You have to unrar that file, there is files inside of the file!! LOL

this mech mod skrewed my xbox it wont let me log into live and it say it need service somtimes...... can i delete this completely off my xbox or can u explain hot to make this work...... do u need a mod chip???
