Nah, it has to be an original otherwise the PS2 wont recognise the disc. :)

PS2 will only play backups if used with a Modchip or Swapmagic... You can not d/l swapmagic and use it because it is a Pressed Disc and a CD or DVD burner will not be able to copy those important pressed sectors...
If you only have a CD Burner and not a DVD Burner you also will only be able to Backup CD based games.. You will need a DVD burner to backup DVD Based PS2 games

1 is an a DVD the other is on a CD
@ alein13 -- you can d/l the newest version and use it using an older version to boot it, like u put in 3.3 and the get a home-make "backup" of 3.6 and load it, then load the game, say gt4

it would be a cd that you insert into the ps2 then for instance choose the codes you want and then start the game and switch the code disc with the game disc....So it also came with software as to which i can dowload gamesaves and code updates online and transfer them to my PS2 mem cards....then come to relize upon dl it onto the pc it gives me a thing called MAX media center and this will alow me to burn CD-r's and use them on the PS2 but i want to use emulators cuz it says that it can do that but i dont know how to burn them.

The only emulator it will let you play is pgen. You won't be able to get any other emulator working, i've tried. The closest you'll get with snes-station will be the first screen, and you won't be able to see any roms.
If you want to use pgen go into max media creator, press add emulator then add roms, click on ps2 cd roms on output media and burn the file leaving the rest of the settings the same. then use the media player on the ARM disc and insert the cd. If this doesn't work, repeat trying the cd changing the compatibilty before your going to burn the cdr. the original setting is fine for most people

Because it burns the files onto UMCDRS , which pgen can read roms off of. However snes-station isn't designed to read roms off of UMCDR, and won't see the roms. It'll still read the .elf (the program itself) because you can load the whole emulator it just won't see any roms. If this isn't clear enough for you I spent a good six months trying to get it to work and you won't be able do it in any way. This includes swapping discs and loading the roms off a memory card. If you still don't believe me check out the snes-station forum at http://www.gamebase.ca where there are loads of people who found that they COULDN'T get it to work with ARM.
