Got a problem. Was encodeing The Movie Interpreter Avi to DVD..when the power went out..when it came back on I tried again..this is the message I got

Warning: DirectShow crashed while attempting to render this file.

This is usually due to damaged, misconfigured, conflicting, or poorly written codec drivers. It is possible, perhaps even likely, that other media players will crash when they attempt to play this file as well, as most of them will also use DirectShow. GSpot was able to intercept the crash, and has attempted to identify the codec or filter involved; uninstalling or reinstalling this codec or filter may solve the problem.

The codec was tentatively identified as:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\mpeg2dmx.ax

this was the Primary I was useing..Mainconcept Mpeg Encoder..crashed
Also tried VSO DivxToDVD..would not even start
DVD Santa..Just crashed
Procoder..crashed
AVI2DVD..crashed
It all seems to be involve..mpeg2dmx.ax..this particular file seems to pop up as the problem
don't quite know what to do..any help would be appreciated
All these programs were working fine until Power outage

It sounds Like your "mpeg2dmx.ax" file has somehow been Corrupted, It could have happened when the power went out....

If you want to try something that Might fix the problem (Or might not) then Leave PM me your e-mail address and I will send you a New version of the "mpeg2dmx.ax" file and you Just Find were on your PC this File is (Use the windows search Feature) Then Replace the one on your System with the One I will send you .....

This File is Part of the Elecard Mpeg-2 decoder which is Probably the Mpeg decoder used on your System when Encodeing/Decodeing Mpeg-2 files....

Also another thing you Can Try is useing the Windows search Feature and when you find out the Directory were the "mpeg2dmx.ax" file is then you Might get an idea what Program Installed the File on your System and then you Can Just Uninstall this program and re-install it...

These are the Only 2 Things I can Think of so if you want me to send you the File let me Know....

Cheers

Hi Minion,
I have the same problem with rick5446.
When I use the Super DVD Creator it appears:
Access violation at address 036FDFF3 in module 'mpeg2dmx.ax'. Read of address 03792000.
Would you please tell me how to download the mpeg2dmx.ax and replace it?
And also I try the method you teach re-install the program but no use.
And I don't have any idea which program also installed this file on my computer.
Thank you very much!

Download the BoliGego codec Manager.
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/BoliGego_Codec_Manager.htm
Not really to install, just do the first step then exit.
It will extract all the files in a foler include the mpeg2dmx.ax.

I think there must be some problem with free-codecs.com.
Try the original website BoliGego Software.
