XBOX Loading error

I've had my xbox for about 1 1/2 years and when I turn on the system and put in an xbox game disc I receive an error message that says the system does not recognize the disc. I've tried several other xbox game discs, however all receive the same error message. I have never had a problem before.

Any thoughts on how to fix this problem?

Is your Box Moded? I mean can you still load Games off the HDD? If you do not have a clue as to WTF I'm talking about. Then ok don't worry about it.

It sounds like your DVD-ROM Drive is either Dirty (try a CD Lense cleaning Disc), or that your DVD-ROM Drive has meet it's Maker! Have you ever tryied seeing if your XBOX? can still read non XBOX? Content. (i.e. Audio CD's or DVD's?)
