swap magic dvd disk not working! pls help

hello everyone..
i am facing a crisis...
my swap magic dvd disk aint working anymore..
when i try to load it...it takes me to this screen with a cd in the centre which says playstation2 disc and when i click on it...it takes me bak to the same screen...
now i have been using swap magic for almost 6 months now..and ive never had this problem..i have a version 3.3 and its never given problems...i cleaned the disk and also on looking behind i noticed some kind of smudge mark about a 1cm long...
now what i want to know is if there is a way to boot my dvd backup thru the cd swap magic and do some kinda toc refresh..cos i read somethin about that somewher...and if someone could explain to me how that works...it would b great...
any help would b appreciated thanx
i dont want to order a new set jus cos of this one disk...

nope it didnt come off..and its wierd cos i never noticed it before..and it jus goes to the browser screen with the ps2 disc in the centre and on clickin its jus the same things...it takes me bk there...and i also tried to copy the game to my harddrive...
but it wouldnt let me...dvd decryptor said that theres some error...
so i jus want to knw if theres a way i can boot the dvd backup thru the swap magic cd disk..
and also i heard bout the toc refresh on the swap magic cd disk..
i put in the cd disk
eject and it says insert bigger toc disk..i put in my original gta-sa
and it loads the screen but at the bottom it says not a calid ps2 disk...when i try to swap..the disk is still spinning...so im lost...
ive tried to swap it even tho it is spinning...but doesnt work

your best bet is to take that smudge mark off the disc.try rubbing alcohol to take the smudge off.and is it a smudge mark or scuff mark?a smudge is dirt and a scuff is scratches.

you cant make a copy of swap magic anyway.there is a file that wont read from the disc even if the disc is in perfect condition.

and i have booted dvd backups on the cd swap magic disc before.you do a toc refresh with a game that is the same size or bigger than the game that you are trying to boot.try a different game.

thats what i want to know how to do the toc refresh thing...if u could explain that to me a bit better i would appreciate it..and ur rite im sorry..its a scuff mark....about 1 cm in size...

heres what i think im doing for toc refresh
first
i put the swap magic 3.3 cd in
when the load program screen comes...
i eject.
it asks tto put a bigger toc disk
i put in gta: san andreas and press the eject button to push the tray back inside...
the load program screen comes again but below it is written
not a valid ps2 disk.

now from here..its still reading the disk..cos when i try to use the slide to i can feel the disk is still spinning..i take it out anway and swap with my backup..then i press x...nothing happens..

now going back to when i put gta san andreas and it says 'not a valid ps2 disk' and instead of swapping i press x..it plays the original game...so im jsu confused and lost..

youre doing it right.its just the game isnt registering as a ps2 for some reason.if you pressed x and got the original to play then it shouldnt have said not a valid ps2 game.basically the original has to come up as a valid ps2 game before you can swap it out.that is why i suggested using another game to refresh the toc.or maybe try another backup all together with a smaller size just in case you dont have a game that is the same size or bigger than san andreas.

you could also get some disc repair solution and try to buff out that scuff mark.

well...
i tried using 3 different games all which i think have big toc
1st was gta san andreas
2nd was gta vice city
3rd was mvp basball 2004...
and everytime it still said not a valid ps2 disk...but on hitting x the game loads...
but when i swap for the backup nothing happens....
and heres another thing
once i swap the disk....as soon as i lock the tray with the slide tool if i immediately press x nothing happens..looks like its going to load...but then nothing happens..whereas aftr i swap and lock the tray if i wait for a minute and then press x...it goes black and looks like its going to load...but...doesnt..it goes to ps2 browser then to the please insert a playstation2 format red screen...
so maybe once i insert the original do i have to wait a while before swapping or wait till it reads or smthn? i jus hv no clue...
and if i hv to buy another set i was thinkin if maybe hd advance or usb extreme would b better..i dunno..im jus really pissd...
so leme knw if u hv any more ideas..

and also could it b that when i try to make the swap the original disk inside is still spinning? cos thats whats happenin..the original is still spinning and i still go ahead and make the swap...but no matter what original i put in..it still shows not a valid ps2 disk at the bottom which is so wierd...

only thing i can think of is cleaning your ps2 lens.and of course trying to repair the swap magic disc.

which version ps2 do you have?

and try cleaning the cd swap magic disc also.
