Hi there...

My CompUSA External Norwood DVD drive is buring at 4x even though I select 1x. Any idea why it is not burning at the selected (1x) speed?

Thx, mr_eddy.

I think that your burner doesn't support 1x burning. I have a Pioneer DVD-R 109 and it's lowest burning speed is 4x. But don't worry, backing up games at 4x is fine - I do all of my games at 4x (guess I don't have any other option anyway) and they all work fine.

I can burn at 1x with Alcohol 120, it is only DVD Decrypter that burns at 4x.

Thx.

That's strange cause my version of DVD Decrypter (which is the latest) allows me to set the burn speed at 1x, 2.4x, 4x... though as I mentioned earlier my burner doesn't support anything less than 4x

Do you let the decrypter verify the burned data?

It won't be. I burn everything at 4X and if i burn lower e.g 1X or 2X it will take ages to load everything, the screen will become choppy.

Just burned naruto1 and 2, god of war, gt4 and MGS3. No hassle at 4x using 8x ridata+R/philips DVD-R.
