Marcovision are working on a new dvd copy protection called Rip Guard which reportedly will be extremely difficult to bypass. Reports are that the downside of this is that it could make dvds released with Rip Guard not play in a lot of current dvd players. Rip Guard is to be released towards the end of the year. I think the real losers in this will be genuine people who just want to make a back up copy of their dvd collection. We can only hope someone is able to write a program to circumvent this so we can back up our movies when this comes out soon.
