I want to start out by saying that i've been a longtime lurker here and just now joined. There is a lot of great info that helped me out tremendously with video encoding, xbox modding..etc. Now I call on you, this time as a poster in need of desperate help. Here's the problem.
Let's start with my equipment:
Xbox 1.6
Xecuter 2.3b Lite Solderless adapter w/external switch
Western Digital 80GB
I want to just say that this setup ran flawlessly for over a year, had no issues with anything. It ran modded perfectly and with the switch off I was able to connect to LIVE and play games.
I use XBMC as my media center for my living room so I update it as much as I can. I recently had a corrupt XBMC file and it basically killed my whole modded F: partition. So..I said..what the hell..let's start from scratch. So here is what I did in order:
1. Downloaded the latest Slayers Auto-installer 2.6
2. Booted the XBOX Modded with the Auto-installer and unlocked the HD
3. Full format of the harddrive.
4. Full Restore of Upgraded Harddrive w/F: partition for LIVE Stealth
5. Locked the harddrive back down.
6. Rebooted.
Now..I test everything with Mod on and everything works great. I reinstall the latest XBMC w/FlashFXP and everything is working well. Setup the network...settings..etc.
A couple of days later I get the new XBOX Magazine and want to try out the new BF: Modern Combat demo but it's only LIVE enabled so I turn my mod off, and start the XBOX. Here is where the trouble begins. I get a blank screen, and I can't open my DVD drive at all. So I think..hmmm. Let's see if I can access the MS Dash from Evolution X. Go to the MS Dash no problem at all.
So..when the MOD Chip is turned off, I get blank screen and can't eject the DVD drive. I tried to reformat C:, reload the MS Dash off of the Slayers Auto-installer and it still has the same problem. So I think that my Drive isn't locked..so I unlock it and lock it at least 2 or 3 times off of the Slayers Auto-Installer and still the same issue.
I don't think the Mod Chip is borked because it works fine when it's set on...
Any ideas? I'm desperate. This is my DVD player, Media Center and Game Machine so it's pretty important that I get it working.
