hi everyone,

Could you give me some suggestions on creating data cds? I 've used Nero for a long time. But recently I find winoncd has some interesting features over Nero.

It has something called "Data OverSpan?", that is "If your files or file sets are too big for a single disc, WinOnCD automatically spans your files across multiple discs, even if you want to add data later."

Have you tried this before? I need to burn many 250M files (200M will be wasted in each 700M cd-rs). My main concern is that, how safe this feature is? (data easy to get corrupted?) Should I use it, or just use Winrar to split large files into small parts?

Another question is that, Winoncd can support long file names in Win NT. But Nero can only create data cds with file names consist 32 characters at most (right?). I don't need my data to be read in Dos and win9X. But will these disks compatible with linux?

Which is better, Nero or Winoncd? Or, besides Nero and Winoncd, any other software good at creating data cds? (not cd copying)

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
