Hey people

I bought a HDD for my PS2 a while back and using the HDLoader (http://www.hdloader.com.au/product) copied all my games onto it. It worked fine for a while but recently adn all of a sudden it goes through the loading screen at the beginning but then says HDD not found. Ive checked all the connections and they all seem fine. What can be the problem??

Thanks for any replies

Your HDD has probably crashed - try reseting the Hard Drive (HDD)

i.e.

- Unscrew Network Adaptor
- Remove HDD from Network Adaptor
- Plug it all back in again and retry
- If that doesnt fix it try another HDD
- Or connect the PS2 HDD in question to your computer and see if it is readable.

thanks for your reply

Im jsut wondering... when i got my HDD i was given a CD of ridge racer revolution which i was told was needed to play the HDD as it was 'formatted' to that cd. Does this mean that it wont even be readable under a PC cos its not formatted for windows???

Thanks

No unfortunately it won't be readable in windows as such...

e.g. Give you a drive letter in "My Computer"

But it will still be readable using a program such as WinHiiP, you can use that program to view the playstation format partition.

Although you should be able to tell if the hard drive is working or not by entering the BIOS (when you turn the computer on) after it is finished the memory test it gives you an option to press either F2 or Delete to enter the BIOS. (you must do this quickly)

There should be either a drives option or IDE option - you want to run a check to determine whether the computer can see the drive... each BIOS setup is slightly different depending on the computer so it can be a little tricky to explain exactly what you need to do really all you need to do is just follow your nose...

But if your not sure and dont really want to mess around in your BIOS then I guess you could just:
Connect the drive to your computer
Turn it on, run winhiip and see if you can the view/copy games etc on your playstation (PS2) partition.

Goodluck, Dude.
