hey,
I just burned my first 2 ps2 games with alcohol 120%, suikoden III and atelier iris =). Suikoden III came out perfect, i've only played a small way into the game but from past experiences with burning ps1 games, i'm pretty sure it'll be fine throughout. Atelier iris also came out well but it is quite jumpy, and I wanted to basically know of a way I oculd burn this at 1x to improve it. As for what I did and used, I selected 6x for both the games on alcohol, this was the lowest speed I could get, but it said as it was burning, that 6x was an illegal speed and it changed it to 3.2x ( i didnt actually notice whether it did this with suikoden III but it did with atelier iris) I wasn't complaining as it was a slower speed. Anyway the dvd's i'm using are TDK 1-8x so I'm guessing it's my dvd writer thats stopping me from burning at 1x or 2x? Any help would be great. Thanks =)

you probably want to actually have it burn at 4x. You can actually have bad audio and jumpy graphics if you burn too slow too. I burned Atelier Iris no problem, but I do have an easier time (although not needed) if I first load DVD Loader v7 from swapmagicfix.com. Then again, I use a Swap Magic 2.0, so I have more problems than the other swap magic users.

If I load the game without DVD Loader, it'll boot, but I get glitchy graphics. You may wanna give that a try.

Well, I've got my ps2 modded so I don't know if the issue you mentioned with the dvd loader would be a problem. Also I would burn at 4x if I could but it will only go to 6x although as I mentioned before, alcohol seems to change it to 3.2x (with atelier anyways), i'm gonna try burning phantom brave and I'll have a closer look at what happens. Thanks for the help though =)

Yeah, if you're modded, then the DVD Loader isn't gonna help you. I dunno why Alcohol is doin that to you. 6X is too fast. I'd bet that's where your problems are. Have you tried loading up DVD Decrypter to see if that'll let you burn at 4x?? It's free =)
