hi , i put a duo2se mod chip in my ps2 to playbackups and all has been ok.........until now. i started having problems about 2 weeks ago when sometimes the red "insert ps2 format disc" screen would appear. But now it is doing it all the time...even with original games?? Does anybody know if it is my mod chip or my ps2??

with the duo 2se, u gotta switch it to the ps2 mode. look on google for the chip instruction. otherwise, your laser is dead. look up for a guide under the author steimy, he has the instruction on how to troubleshoot and fix. good luck!

mode as in switching it to play DVD, ps1, or ps2. Holding the reset button for 4 seconds to switch between modes. go to www.mod-chip.com and look up under "instruction" and choose your chip and it will give u the direction on how do you want to boot your system.

cheerz i have checked instructions and and followed them and have got original games to work and dvds but still my backups that worked before still dont work could it be modchip or a loose wire ??????

I have the same problem too just now. I think it's the modchip. I can play original games but the back ups. it could mean that the chip is not in function. Might need to resolder it again
