i have just been putting some old footage i have from video ontodvd but i want to edit stuff like adverts and end credits out anybody know of a program that i can download from the net to do this

Try using Adobe Premier Pro its pretty good or you could edit it on tmeg encoder before you encode it though it has limited functions.
