ok im new at this ok i have an xbox right and i wanna burn someof ma games 4 ma friend if i burn dem on 2 a dvd-r and give it 2 him does he need a mood chip or somein like dat?

A Softmod is the act of using software to modify hardware such as a video card or sound card or an xbox in a way that can unlock or enable disabled features, usually pipelines.

Basically softmodding an xbox allows you to modify several aspects of the system including, but not limitied to the following; Hard drive, Dashboards, Saving games, movies , music, pictures, andwallpapers to your hard drive, etc.

Just type it in in Google and a world of info will open to you.
