How to put Magic S+ Modchip into sleep mode?

Anyone know how to put a Magic S+ modchip into sleep mode? I had my v12 Slim ps2 professionally modded by modchip.ca with a magic s+.I went out and bought madden 2006 and it recognizes my modchip and is giving me dnas 402 error. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Okay I found out how to put the chip into sleep mode but when I do that it goes to the red screen," please insert a ps2 format disc".
I am trying to boot a store bought copy of madden 2006.
Please Help
