i heard that even if you have dvd-rom drive, it might not burn dvd-roms. Does the the DVD decrypter do that?

Yes thats true, a dvd-rom cant burn dvds unless it also has a dvd burner in it, so if isnt a combo, you will need to get a dvd burner and dvd rom to read the discs.

And yes DVD Decrypter does backup the games but you will need a dvd rom/burner.

Also do you have a modchip or swap magic, if not what ps2 do you have old bulkier version ps2, or new slimline?
