why did you try burning with Alcohol 120%? Wouldnt DVD Decryptor write a good copy for you? or did I miss something?

Idk, more experienced with alcohol 120% I guess. I'll try burning at x4 like the other guy said with dvd decrypter.
oh btw, I'm using maxell 4x dvd-r's. Is those aren't, what are the absoulute best possible dvd-r's I could use for burning games?
And a 3rd edit...looking around for some good dvd-r's to buy, these any good?

meritline catagorizes them in the professional grade media catagory, and I think they must be good becuase they're sony. Thinking about buying a 200 pack. Will they be good for ps2 games?

Try verbatim thats what im using DVD-R 1-8x they're usually on sale at shopko $11 for a 25 pack

hi, was wondering if i could get a little help with backing up games. i use dvddecrypter usually and have even had success with on the fly nero copying. i have got a mod chip installed in slim ps2 and also swap magic. some of the games i backup work fine but after using for several days they stop working, or freeze at certain points? what does this mean. happened with NBA 2005, san andreas and chaos thoery. it even happened with fifa street, i even applied the iso buster patch, backed it up and it worked fine...then it stopped. i burnt at about 2.4x speed and used bulkpaq, verbatrim discs(dunno how to spell it) some games stopped working but others are still fine...WHY DEOS THIS HAPPEN? does it mean the dvd discs are not good or is it summit else. someone please help... thanks!

ok, I got tekken 5 to work perfectly on a sony 2x dvd-rw disk. But Katamari damacy won't work. It'll boot (if I'm lucky that day) but it takes about 10 minutes to actually get to the title screen and the intro video skips and the music track is skippy and freezes at a certain point. Is this becuase I'm using a dvd-rw or is it something else?
Alright I've read some other stuff on this forum now about swap magic not working with games that are between 4.0 gb and 4.3 gb. This seems right becuase neither katamari damacy or soul calibur 2 worked for me and they both are in that catagory. So will somebody PLEASE tell me how to do it? Possibly give me a tutorial on the whole nero rebuilding thing and how it works?

Hey
I noticed lots of people are aving problems with SOME particular games using swap magic and slide card. I too am having these problems. One person posted that games that are anywhere between 4 and 4.3 gB hardly ever work. Every game i have burnt works fine, EXCEPT for any game that has online gameplay. I assume that online gameplay increases game size so this would account for the percentage of games between 4 and 4.3 gB that arent wokring and also something has to be done to the game to get it to work. I have heard lots about Disc ID Uitilities and DNAS patching but dont know how to do any of it. If anyone could help and walk me through game patching that would be much appreciated. Not sure if i am right but for me the only games that never work or skip heaps are online capable games that arent patched.

search for DNAS patching on this forum, if I remember right they havee a guide on it, pretty simple process.
Ok after about 6 or 7 hours of trying to figure out the recompiling thing on my own I said screw your tutorials and I just edited the original .iso with magiciso and replaced the dummy file with a fixed one. It worked fine last night but this morning it won't boot, the swap disk will try to boot it but then (WTF?!?!) it resets the console and it goes back to the browser, which then tells me to insert a ps2 or ps1 format disk. I tried this over and over about 6 times I think. What happened? Is it becuase I'm using memorex becuase I hear those suck for doing this.

Just a question. I burned Atelier Iris as an image onto my HD and now I'm burning it to a DVD by DVD Decrypter, should this work because if I try to burn it to DVD by Alcohol it says that there was a recording error and when I try to burn it with DVD Decrypter ISO format it doesn't burn either. Am I doing something wrong to begin with?

Hi everyone, I am new at this. I've been trying to burn ps2 games for some time now... and it seems to not work for me. I used the DVD Decrypter to burn ps2 games w/ iso. And the thing is I don't know what is the meaning of swap discs or a mod chip.
If anyone know or can explain this. I would appreciated alot. Thanks.

a message comes up (not a ps2 disc)???durnt with decrypter and nero
at 1x and 2x looked on this site but not seen any helpful items

hi there having the same problem every time i write a disc an try to play it with swap magic comes up with not a valid ps2 disck wasted several discs now getting prety fed up can anyone please give me some help been using pc world cheap DVD-R and tried a couple DVD+R still no joy please help

I'm having the SAME DAMN PROBLEM both of you are having, I'm using Sony 2x dvd-rw's to burn te games. I have a v5 ps2 with a PnP key and swap magic disks. What the hell are we doing wrong! Thank god I thought it was only me.

Ihave tried to copy a PS2 game and it doesn't play in the game. I do all of the things correctly and it says it is successful but when I try to play it in the game, it says I need a corrected formated disc. I have been trying to get some tech. help but nobody contacts me. Either I'm doing something wrong or the program isn't working as stated.

i seem to have overcome my troubles...using DVD Decrypter, save image by ISO read, then ISO write that file onto a sony DVD-R at 1x (looong but no problems/no failures/no crashes....absolutely flawless) and i havent even used any patches or ISO busters. it works with my mod chip and swap magic. EVEN FIFA STREET WORKS - AMAZIN! finally, im getting somewhere! forget, alcohol and Nero, dvd decrypters the way forward - for those who are having problems!

I was talking to somebody who realy knows their stuff on computers about this, and he said my problem might be that my burner is too slow for the computer, the information is coming in faster then the burner can burn it. I have a 4x dvd burner, but it's never actually got up to that fast. Is it what my problem is? Then again the guy that just posted saying his problems are fixed sounds like he has the same setup as me, and he got his to work. What burner are you using?

Ok all of you having problems burning games and what not need to switch ur media discs. Even though you might be using sony discs they are not very compatible when you have a game on them. Try using verbatim DVD-R they're usually on sale at best buy. As far as burn speed I use 2x and that seems to work fine. Had problems burning at 1 x the games wouldnt load worth a damn. Freeze every few frames. As far as what is an iso? An iso is the data of the game that is saved onto ur harddrive. So the name of the game.iso that is the iso. If ur using DVD Decrypter it will make an iso and an mds file. You want to burn with the mds file unless you dont have it use the iso. I too have had problems with games and wasted many a disc it just takes awhile.
