help, i can not backup this game......

i have tried all programs and each one gives me an error. could it be the dvd? i have tried this on another computer and get the same problems.

this error is from dvd decrypter. i put the mdf/mds file in my documents (that went fine) then i went to write and got this message. i have been trying to do this for 1 week. i have even gone to the extreme of reformating my hard drive and fresh installing everything (thinking maybe one of my settings were off) i have no problems with any other games, only this one.

has anyone sucessfully backed up this game? if so what are the complete steps that you took, programs.

this is the error from dvd decrypter.

dumb question, but how do i update my firmware? the externals firmware? i went to mad dog and found it, but i am afraid to update. can i screw it up?

also i notice you are using a burner on a usb cable

i have also tried to do it on another computer with an internal, which i am going to try again in a couple of minutes.

i have done the isobuster and then new comp with Nero onto a DVD+R and it copied fine, but it wont load.... normally it starts the lead and then fails to burn.

many coaster, actually i am going to make a mobile cd hanger lol. who needs this many coasters.

this is the first time that i have ran into any troubles, i am using "cheap" media. fujifilm DVD-R and hp DVD+R. its weird i have backed up about 26 dvd with only a couple of operator errors.

i am going to try on the other dvd. i am going to try and use the isobuster and Nero method. when i do this should i name the dvd the same as it is named (original name) instead of the default "NEW"? would this make a difference.

thanks hursty, this is not the first time that you have HELPED me and it wont be the LAST!!!

failed to read file "E:\"

data error (cycle redundancy check.

it doesnt matter which computer i am on. there is no way that 3 discs are no good?

yesterday i reformated my hard drive and reinstalled everything on my notebook computer, so i dont think it is a setting?

i have burned before with all the programs and dvds before with no problems, this is the weird part.

should i try to flash my dvd burners? and then try again. i cant even get past DVD Decrypter, so it has nothing to do with the my media.

i am now getting this error, on my upstairs computer

i/o error!
device [3:0:0] hp dvd writer 300n 3.15 E; ata

any suggestions?

incase it is my media, which i am highly at this time thinking, so for future purchase how is this media:

Sony 50-Pack 8x DVD-R Disc Spindle
Model: 50DMR47LS2

are there any that you recommend that, sorry to ask, go on sale? i always see 50 disk for $. which brands should i get and which to stay away from? i know now no FUJIFILM. i guess let them stay with cameras...? lol

will wait for reply before doing anything

thanks for your help

i/o errors may mean the disk is damaged or dirty

i would recommend also you read through the other information i gave you,(the link i gave you),as that may be your problem

and buying more disks may not be the answer

Hursty: whoo hoo i am doing the happy dance, well shuffle.... lol

this is what i have done to backup movies:

on my upstairs computer i upgraded to the latest version of dvd decryptor and then after if got (tried in insert Picture) didnt work.

it said

possible structure protection found
areas have been marked as "suspect"
dummy sectors will be inserted where necessary
ect...

never came accross this one yet....

but it worked....

now onto the game. i wish the game companies would replaced scratched disks/movies because then we wouldnt have to go through this just return for a working one..........

thanks, i am also going to try and update my firmware on my computer upstairs, or should i just leave it alone....

thats just the protection being removed by DVD Decrypter,(dvd decrypter is very powerful)....i didnt realise you were having problems cracking the protection on the movie)

btw,clonedvd2/anydvd combo is far better, but this discussion about movies belongs in the correct forum

anyways,.....did the movie burn?

if so,it cant be a problem with the burners firmware

now try,iso/read with the ps2 game...does it put it on the hardrive ok?
