Hi i'm a newb to this site and dvd backups and I was just wondering if some of you seasoned pros could help me out. I just recently got a dvd burner and I felt liek testing it out. I have shrek 2 and I wanna make a backup of it. Now I know about all the guides here, but I have read numerous other threads explaining about many errors and such. Fourtanetly I have also come across many replies in which an individual claims to have successfully back up this dvd.

Now i was just wondering if someone could tell me how to completly back up this movie. I am aware that this can be done using shrik dvd so that is why I posted in this forum. If someone could make step by step guide for me on how to do this it would be greatly appreciated, or if you dont have teh time, simply post a link of a guide taht you used. im trying to back up the whole dvd- extras and all, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance:
A confused Newb

bouncer13,
Welcome to the forum. Below is a step by step guide w/ pictures. Use good quality blank media like Verbatim or Taiyo Yudens abd you should not have any problems. You can do the whole disk but remember the quality will go down as the compression goes up. Suggest you do movie only.

Start the movie first, it will automatically decode the movie for copying. Click right mouse button and exit the movie but leave it in the computer. Then start DVD Shrink, click the open disc and name it the (movie name) It will analyze the movie (takes about 1 minute to analyze the movie) Put a blank in the burner and hit backup. Ta-Da your done.
Don't use a RW disc it might not work in the dvd player. Use only R-orR+.

Hope this helped
