Sony Pictures Factory DVD Media Read Problems in PC

Anyone have problems with your DVD writer reading or recognizing Sony Picture Studios Factory DVDs??? I've got DVD X Copy Platinum, Clone DVD, DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter but all in vain when my HP DVD Writer 300n refuses to even recognize ONLY Sony Picture Studies Factory DVDs.

Today it's "Off the Map" and yesterday it was "Kung Fu Hustle," both Sony produced DVDs that aren't recognized or read in my DVD drive. Just updated the Firmware and still it reads nothing in the drive. Previous problems with XXX: State of an Absurd Movie, and Man of the House, all Sony Factory DVD products. Managed to burn them though using DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter.

Is it my particular HP DVD Writer 300n that has read problems specially with Sony Picture Studie Factory DVDs or is Sony refusing to release them as 'readable' in PC or Mac DVD players??? Anyone know??? Prior Thx....

Sony has a version of copy protection called Arcoss. While your 300n is no longer supported, it shouldn't be the issue here. DVD Fab Decrypter is worth a shot or possibly AnyDVD.

But with burner prices as low as they are, why not put pack a bit of cash for a future upgrade. I ditched my 300n a couple of months ago when I started having issues with write speeds on blanks. Knowing that no more firmware versions would be released, I upgraded to a liteon for about $70.

Thx for advice and recommendations Zippyd. I may have to because having burn problems now after doing firmware driver update. The Burns come out scratched by the laser for whatever reason now! Jeez, should left well enough alone - but now, I had to do everything I could to get those Sony factory movies.. like an obsessive compulsive manic fool..

Thx though.. perhaps I can get a DVD RW instead of DVD R....
