Hello People, Been away for a vacation but I'm back and with problems with DVD Shrink...
I tried burning some DVD's ( Seinfeld series )and I'm getting a message that says " DVD Shrink encountered an Error and cannot continue. Programming Error - Exception occured." This has happenend several times. Microsoft wanted me to send in the error report but I was hesitant on doing that - no particular reason? I brought up the error report detail and it said "C:\Docume~1\Ron\Locals~1\Temp\6a92_appcompat.txt"
DVD Shrink has treated me very well any upgrades to this great program? Any suggestions? Thanks Ron

You need to rip it to the HD using DVDDecrypter. Rip all of the files to HD and then use Shrink.

More info on your problem found here:

Car.Mike is correct try ripping with Decrypter. This series disk has been causing encryption problems and Shrink cannot handle it. If you are still experiencing difficulty dl the 21 day trial version of AnyDVD I know it will handle this encryption. Or try the latest ver of free DVDFabDecrypter available at http://www.filepedia.com

Thanks Guys, I have never used the "Decrypter" with success. It mentioned that the movie file cannot exceed a certain volume and I believe that these "Seinfeld" files may exceed there limitations??
Any suggestions Thanks Tons - Ron

You should have no problems with a size limitation unless you pick iso mode, the movie is over 4 gig and have a fat32 or not enuf free space on your hd. If using DVDD and Shrink should should have at least 12 free -more is better. Otherwise just rip in file mode and compress with shrink.

Binkie7 - Thanks for your reply. I have several "Decrypter" guides and they all seem to want to be in "ISO" mode. When you say "just rip in "file" mode and compress with "DVD Shrink", it sounds so simple? Is there a guide where I can use "file" mode? I do need a step by step guide for this, as my past trys did not result very well.. I do have 27 gigs remaining on my HD - not sure how many gigs a two hour movie entails ( Seinfeld Series ) five episodes each disc.
I do appreciate your help but I just seem to get into all kinds of problems with selecting the wrong picks in the "Decrypter". Thanks again Ron
