No action replay started off for playstation then it moved onto the other consoles. No you CAN'T play backups with Action replay max. I have heard about doing it with action replay versions 2.0 or below or gameshark but DEFINATELY not Action replay max. You can play 'old school games' as you call them (genesis roms) because the max media creator uses a special method to boot .elf files off of a cd-r using a thing called UMCDR. You will only be able to egt the pgen emulator and some other 'homebrew' programs working. You WON'T be able to boot copied games,Snes-station, or any other emulator. There is NO way around this so don't post "oh but what if I...." because it WON'T work. You will NOT be able to boot copied games without the knife swap, swap magic, or a mod-chip, there is simply no other way.
