Im really new to all of this and am not very up to date on all the techno stuff but am hoping someone can help me.
Ive managed to copy a disc using DVD decryptor (use a copied dvd to copy it again) had no problems and have done a few copies.
My problem is when i go to copy an original dvd. Ive tried 3 different dvd's and everytime i get... Copy protection error I/O devic error....message come up. HAving read up it seems that it could probably be dirty discs etc but surely not on 3 discs???
When i use Shrink i...
open shrink...click on "open disc"...select film from drop down box that appears...click ok...let dvd be analysed....then click "re-author". Double click on "main movie" so it moves it into the left hand box. Then i click "back up". When the box pops up i make sure it shows my dvd writer and also select folder underneath it for temporary files. then i click ok....after about 8 mins the message Copy protection and I/O device error appears.
What am i doing wrong??? PLease please help someone!!! I hope ive explained the above ok.

Run the disc through DVD Decrypter first (using latest and last version) then run it through DVD Shrink. A lot of newer movies, DVD Shrink can't handle on it's own.
You could also try using AnyDVD which is a little more user friendly than Decrypter as it runs in the background.
When you say run it through decrypter first i guess you mean up to the point where i put it on my hard drive... then what do i do to get it to run through the shrink??
Sorry to be a pain but im new to all this and am trying to do some for my sons birthday on Saturday.

I/O Errors are NOT bugs!!!! (well, not 99.99999% of the time anyway)
An I/O Error is a way of displaying a problem your drive had with the disc or your system config (mainly a disc problem though). Unrecovered read errors, Seek errors, Servo errors, Focusing errors, ECC errors, CIRC Unrecovered errors etc. are all your drives way of saying "I don't like this disc". Clean the disc, update your drives firmware (http://www.rpc1.org), try it in another drive, and get another copy.
