NTSC to PAL 60hz to 50hz?!?

arite guys, right,my mate and I got a game on import and running with swap magic. works great on mine...except with his when the game boots the screen starts rolling...now thats cos his TV doesn't support 60Hz isn't it... if I was to patch the game from NTSC to PAL, would this then make it playable on his 50hz TV??


I was a bit confused by this because I always thought that if ur TV had a scart socket and a SCART lead youd be ok...obviously not.....

I had this problem with destroy all humans... but it was the other way around. I'm in the US and I had a PAL copy of the game. It would boot up with swap magic but the screen was black n white and rolling. I found 2 ways to fix it... I could either set my swap magic video mode to NTSC (it would be PAL for you) and it would work or.. In the case of destroy all humans there is a 50 or 60 Hz setting..which would fix the screen.. I just had to start the game with a rolling screen... but I imagine a patch would work for your mate.. I've found several here http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_patches.shtml

cheers, I've tried setting it to NTSC but it just did the same thing, I'm assuming because it was running in 60Hz still, just hoping a patch would mean it would run in 50hz
