MX4 on a V12 (Slim) PS2: NTSC games on PAL

Hi. I have a Slim PS2 (V12) with the MX4 1.1 chip on it. Its a PAL PS2, and i notice that the NTSC games arent converted to PAL using the PAL60 hack. Shouldn't the chip do this automaticly?

I have another ps2, an older v9 or 10 (dont remember, its an 50004) with the Matrix Infinity chip. That one reproduces all NTSC games as PAL60 automaticaly, i dont have to modify the dvd image or anything.

Shouldn't the MX4 do the same? Or was it improperly installed?
