Good day all...

Do you know those opening messages like the "DVD Backup 321" message that lasts several seconds? How can I remove this or better yet, replace it with a custom VOB? Is this at all possible? And if so, what software facilitates this?

what i can decipher of that..

he means.. use dvd2onex, shrink it down and then burn it using toast..

ok.. i just re-read it..

using VLC, figure out what VOB you dont want.. then whatever is left in the Video_ts foler.. compress that with dvd2onex and then burn..

dang it macman.. you gotta make it a lil easier to understand..

lol

here easier.

1.download the media player called VLC. you can download it here (afterdawn)

2. then you will need tthe video_ts folder that is decrypted on your hard drive.

3. start up VLC and select quick open file and select the files that end in .VOB

4. play all the vobs until you get to the movie.

5. the ones that are not movie related, delete them.

6. now you have a video_ts folder with the menu and movie.

7. you can't burn the movie yet because it will start at a black screen and not play. so you need to open DVD2OneX and selct the video_ts folder, select the audios, subs, etc. and have it run threw.

8. doing that makes the dvd start right to the menu, it doesn't compress because you have already done that.

9. now you have the new video_ts folder and with that you can burn the dvd.

Thanks a million guys, your advice has helped a lot. I caught macman's drift and ran the remaining files through DVD2OneX. The resulting TS_FOLDER played on the Mac so I expect it will play on the stand-alone.
Macman, I will use the procedure you laid out for future "cleansings".

You've both been of great help.
Thanks again!

glad we could help...

question macman..

i got the vlc player..
i wanna make it to where i can get the vobs from the video_ts and run that thru ffmpegx and get the output as mpeg4 for the psp.

do i need anything else? do the vobs include the audio on that as well?

because if i can get that work.. i dont have to mess with ipsp.

and is the entire movie itself... in one vob usually? or can i run two vobs thru ffmpegx at once.. i only want one ouput file?
or is there anyway to join them before that or join two mp4 files?

edit: i just realized.. looking at the guide i posted for divx from video_ts. it shows the option of putting it to mpg4.. that's what the psp reads.. that is good in theory right?

FYI: just giving you a hard time from the info above...

i don't have a psp so i haven't messed with it b4, but i think you have a choice in ffmpegx that puts it to a psp mp4 file. select open and the select psp, just like any other conversion.
