I just bought and iriver h320 and i want to convert my mpeg-1 music vids to xvid so i can play them on the iriver. the i river website recomends using virtual dub but i dont know where to start any help would be great. Here the specs that i river recomends.

[Video]File format AVI
Codec XviD MPEG4 (recommend XviD 1.0.2 codec)
Resolution 220 x 176 only
Frame Rate 10fps at Maximum
Bit Rate 500Kbps at Maximum(recommend under 450Kbps)

Thanks For that. I can now get the vids on my player but the sound is out of sinc and the clip is a bit choppy. i tried changing the target bibrate just like the guide said but it dont seem to work.

The bitrate you set is not the maximum, but rather the average. There could be bitrate spikes.

is there any way to stop those spikes?

You need to use a 1.1.x build and one of the profiles to enable VBV. You also need to do 2 passes or it won't be active.

Can't remember if there is a profile with 500k max though. If there isn't and there is interest I could add one.

Odd that they recommend 1.0.2 since it doesn't do VBV.
