Hi,
I am very new to this. I have recently started to backup my on games so then I can have the originals put away. I have a V9 PS2 with a flip top and SM 3.6 running on it. I just recently burnt my Preditor, Killer 7, and Metal Of Hourour 2 disc's. Both Killer 7 and Preditor will sit at the Start up Screen and go no further and as of MoH 2, it won't even book. I used DVD decrypter to originally burn the games and then, ISO Buster, CD/DVD Gen 1.2, and DOS to rebuild. Finally, burnt them using DVD decrypter at 2X's. Can anyone help me on what I maybe doing wrong?
It could be the media you are using (maybe your ps2 doesn't like dvd+r) or maybe it's a cheap brand media. It could also have something to do with the rebuilding process, but i can't really help on that, i've never owned any games that needed rebuilding to be able to back them up.
I am using Sony DVD-R's. I have been using them for other games that I have backed up. They seem to be working fine. I will try to do a direct copy of the game instead of rebuilding it. Thanks for the advice.
Killer 7 has a dummy file. It's a kind of copy protection that makes the game refuse to boot. Even after fixing it, the game played painfully slow. The GCN version is much better. :P
@ Hellbulit : TOC isn't a feature. when they talk about a game with a high TOC, they mean a game that is bigger(memory or space wise) than the backup you are trying to boot.
Thanks Daniel_G, after I increased the TOC, the Preditor and Killer7 worked. I think I messed up Medal of Honour when I rebuilt it, after reburning it, it too plays fine.
