When I press the reset/power button on my silver slimline PS2, the red light turns green for an instant and then goes back to red. Its like it turns itself off. There is no nodchip installed, does anyone have an idea what the problem might be?

It might be broken, but just try to Unplug the Power cord from the PS2 and then plug it back in.

I found the problem! It turns out the fuse marked PS14 had a dry joint and was not making contact with the M/board. Just warmed up the points with a soldering iron and hey-presto! Many thanks to everyone for the tips.
