I have a V12 PS2, and am looking to buy a mod chip. I can solder and everything, and I have also heard that with this Magic 5Kx, you don't need a laser fix. Sounds like bs, please give any advise you can. thanks

It is bs, unless the modchip itself hooks up to the mechacon too (which would mean it would be a laser fix itself).
