Ok i have many burned dvds full of .vob files, and my laptop doesn't have a dvd player. I have moved the acctual files from my desktop to my laptop but now i'm left with a ton of .vob files for one single movie. What i need is to be able to take the file folder full of these files and play them as if it were a normal dvd, how can i do this?

Just install a software DVD player on your laptop.
If you get the VOB files in there, you don't need a physical DVD-Rom drive.
Make sure the VOBs are in a VIDEO_TS folder, everything nicely in there just like a DVD, including all the little files, then... it should play :^)
There is a free DVD codec kicking around the web, for WMP. But it's hard to find ;^(
Any new video board comes with DVD software these days though; PowerDVD or WinDVD or ? whatever.
Also, Nero plays DVDs (Nero ShowTime).
Let us know if you get it going, bro.

If anyone else has this problem i realized you can play it through DvdShrink just put the preview to full screen, not as good as a dvd player but very close.

Hi ninascrol,
Well let's see here... I direct the output from DVDShrink into a Video_TS folder on harddisk.
This folder will contain VOB files + all the little files required to author a compliant DVD.
I then use Nero to burn the Video_TS folder onto DVD :^)
DVDs work great - play anywhere.
I have a 16x D/L burner, I use quality blanks (mostly only 8x blanks are available) and I burn at 4x speed.
I am fond of DVD+R and I currently have a batch of Sony's (8x rated).
I have never used Decrypter or Shrink to burn anything; I do not believe this is what they are for.
Nero is a great product - could not live without it, LoL ;^)
It will also convert MPEG4 (DivX/XviD) into compliant DVD.
Nero is as important to my PC(s) as Internet Explorer or Windows Media Player... it is a must-have for anyone with any type of burner.
You can easily try my methods with the latest Nero, from here:
Nero.com/eng/download.php" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://ww2.Nero.com/eng/download.php
Package1 is the basic; Package2 offers NeroVision and Recode, for doing video format conversions (transcoding).
Not sure but I think you need only Package1 to burn a compliant DVD from Shrink output...
The Nero DVD Encoder in Package2 is required only if your source is not already MPEG2 (DVD standard).
DVDShrink output is already MPEG2.
In theory, you can direct the output from Shrink to an ISO on your harddisk, then burn DVDs from that (Nero not req'd).
But if your burns are (for whatever reason) not working, it is possibly a problem with burning technique.
Nero will scan a DVD you have burned, and report on its quality and its errors.
I say get Nero (perhaps you use it already?) and run a diagnostic on one of your DVDs that will not play, using TestDrive.
Hope this helps and I have given you some ideas...

For watching DVD's from your hard drive, I recommend using MPC (Media Player Classic): http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=54219
