If I were you, I'd go the free and safer way instead of risking being banned from Xbox Live. XB Connect and X Link Kai are good alternatives.

just a question - i have x-link associated with my xbmc - how do i use that to link to xbox live without getting kicked off?

If you use Tunneling software instead of Live, who cares if your banned? Xbconnect and Kai are limited to system link games only.There's quite a few games that are on Live that you can't play on system link.

you don't, xbox live has nothing to do with XBconnect or KAI. They're tunneling software that fools your xbox into seeing the people you connect to on the internet as an xbox on a LAN playing a system link game.

He might. You bring up a good point and yes there are limited game options by using the software listed but I just figured he wouldn't want to go through the hassle of finding an unbanned EEPROM was he was banned.

No issue here, it's just whatever he prefers I guess. "spdawg" you pretty got got the scopp of both sides, it's all in how you wanna play it.

Couldn't said it better myself. That is what I was trying to get you to avoid. My personal solution, purchase a used unmodded xbox and use that to play online. Then you have no worries.
