Why on earth would you want to do that? They're a copy of an original that is licensed to the respective company anyway. You're copying a disk that manufacturers spend hard research and development dollars trying to stop.

It's just a "backup". The very definition of that is a backup of your original copy and is not intended for resale or re-use. Giving someone the opportunity to copy your copy would entail you either renting/selling/or giving out your backups, which is, in turn, illegal.

I'm not accusing you of anything, I just cant understand why you would want to encrypt your own backups if they're for your purpose only.

On a side note, if you were to put encryption of any kind on there, there are many many smart individuals on here who can break it anyway, so if the person trying to copy really wanted to know how, they could find out here anyway.

i agree, why bother.
if you just want it so that people can not write
to the same disc you used then use regular DVD-R or DVD+R
because you can only write to them once unlike DVD-RW

he doesnt want anybody to ilegally copy sony's games from him.that doesnt sound too unreasonable...yeah right.

but you could put your backups in a box with a mouse trap.so anybody trying to get your backups to recopy them would think twice about messing with your backups.

Dude, that is awesome. I love this post. Make one of your back up into a self booting scat film or something. That would freak out the poor guy who popped that in his ps2.
