Problem with burning in Matshita uj-820S

Hi there, I'm sorry to bother you all with my problem, but I'm kind of desperate here.

I have a Toshiba laptop with the DVDRAM I've mentioned, I've had it for about one year now and never experienced any problems.

But since yesterday I've been trying to burn both DVDs and CDs (my usual brands: Hunday and Verbatim) and have been getting problem after problem, I only had one blank dvd and so I hadn't been able to proof time after time but the error I kept getting was "power calibration failure"

I got one DVD-RW and brurned it with no problems whatsoever.

So I tried cds and I keep getting one "Write Error" cd after cd (High Quality Verbatim ones), it happens with Nero and with any other program I've tried. It usually stops at 25%-28% and burning fails.

this is telling me ur drive does not like the discs u are using
CDR code: 00 97 17 06; OSJ entry from: Moser Baer India Limited
plus i dont think india are renowned for making quality cdrs my advice is to change ur brand of cdr use a well known brand myself i use sony cdr and sony DVD-R 8x
